The undercard for the upcoming WEC 47 show in Columbus, Ohio, is nearly filled with the addition of Bryan Caraway vs. Fredson Paixao in a featherweight bout.

The fight was confirmed to MMAWeekly.com by sources close to the fight late on Wednesday evening who indicated bout agreements have been issued.

Caraway (14-4) made his WEC debut in January after stepping in on short notice to face Canadian fighter Mark Hominick. The former EliteXC and Strikeforce fighter was doing well in the bout until he got caught in an armbar that forced the TapouT and handed Caraway his first loss after winning three fights in a row.

His opponent, Paixao (8-3 1NC), returns for the first time since facing Cole Province in August 2009. Paixao had originally lost the fight to Province, but his opponent tested positive for steroids and the result was changed to a no contest.

A multi-time champion in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Paixao looks to improve his luck in the WEC when he faces Caraway in March. The Brazilian’s only other fight in the promotion was a unanimous decision loss to fellow countryman Wagnney Fabiano.

The fight between Caraway and Paixao will serve as an untelevised fight on the card. WEC 47 is the promotion’s debut event in Ohio.
