Crymson has announced the bulk of the Shooto “Back to Our Roots 3” card, which is scheduled to take place on May 18th at Korakuen Hall.

In the main event, “Lion” Takeshi Inoue will defend his Shooto Lightweight Championship against Shooto Pacific Rim Lightweight Champion Akitoshi Tamura. The two have already met before with Lion winning a decision over Tamura back in November of 2005. Lion is coming off an exciting knockout victory over Hiroyuki Abe at Shooto “Back to Our Roots”. Tamura is coming off a decision win over Tenkei Fujimiya at Shooto “Back to Our Roots”.

In what is considered to be a number one contender’s match for the Shooto Lightweight Championship, Pride veteran Hatsu Hioki takes on AACC fighter Antonio Carvalho. Hioki is coming off a close decision victory over Mark Hominick at TKO 28. Carvalho is coming off a stoppage loss to “Lion” Takeshi Inoue at Shooto: The Devilock.

In a Class A bantamweight bout, AACC fighter Masatoshi Abe takes on Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu World Champion Daniel Otero. Abe is coming off a stoppage victory over Junji Ikoma at a Shooto show back in July of 2006. Otero is coming off a stoppage victory over Tomohiro Hashi at Shooto Brazil 10.
