Bellator Season 4 Lightweight Tourney Roster Nearly Complete With Patricky Freire

Bellator Fighting Championships MMA LogoBellator Fighting Championships on Friday confirmed its sixth competitor for its Season 4 lightweight tournament.

Patricky “Pitbull” Freire, brother of Bellator veteran Patricio “Pitbull” Freire, joins the lightweight roster, which is nearing completion. Patricio is a participant in this season’s featherweight tournament.

Fighting for the first time outside of his home country of Brazil, Patricky (7-1) steps into the 155-pound tournament with Ferrid Kheder, “Razor” Rob McCullough, Carey Vanier, Michael Chandler, and Lloyd Woodard. The tournament champion wins $100,000 and a shot at Bellator lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez.

“I’m very anxious to show fans in the United States what I’m capable of,” said Freire. “Ever since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to fight at a really high level, and now I will with Bellator. I have always trained and fought very hard, and now it’s time to test myself in deeper waters.”

The lightweight tournament is slated to air live on MTV2, as are the rest of Bellator’s Season 4 events.
