Bellator Fighting Championships has announced the tournament brackets for their upcoming season 2 lightweight tournament set to kick off on April 8 in Florida.

Former UFC lightweight competitor Roger Huerta, who just earlier this week signed on with Bellator, will face Chad Hinton, while Janne Tullrinta takes on Carey Vanier at the first event on April 8.

The following weekend on April 15, Pat Curran squares off against Mike Ricci in Chicago at the historic Chicago Theatre.

The final first round match-up will take place on April 22 at the Mohegan Sun in Conn. with last year’s tournament runner-up Toby Imada taking on Ferrid Kheder.

All of the first round match-ups will be seen live on Fox Sports Net, with highlight shows set to debut the following day on NBC and Telemundo.

“As an MMA fan, I can’t wait to see these fights,” said Bellator founder and CEO Bjorn Rebney. “There’s been great buzz about our 155 division and it’s definitely warranted. This is a very well-rounded field and each of these fighters is very dangerous.”

The winner of the lightweight tournament will move on and get a shot at current Bellator champion Eddie Alvarez, who will return to action later this year in a catchweight fight against Josh Neer.
