Bellator continues its global expansion under the leadership of company president Scott Coker with a November event in Israel.
Late last year, Coker promised expansion, saying, “We are thrilled to bring the incredible excitement of hard-hitting Bellator action featuring some of the best athletes in the world to our new global partners in the U.K., Israel, and Italy.”
Having already held events earlier this year in Italy and England, Bellator now sets its sights on Israel, with a Nov. 10 event at Menora Mivtachim Arena in Tel Aviv.
Bellator: Koreshkov vs. Lima will be headlined by welterweight champion Andrey Koreshkov (19-1) putting his belt on the line for the second time, when he faces the man he defeated for the title in Douglas Lima (27-6).
In addition to the championship main event, the card will feature one of Israel’s own in the co-headliner, when newly signed Bellator MMA featherweight Noad Lahat (9-2) meets Scott Cleve (15-5). Additional main card and preliminary fights will be announced in coming weeks.
Bellator: Koreshkov vs. Lima will air in America on SPIKE on Friday, Nov. 11, at 9 p.m. ET / 8 p.m. CT. Bellator has partnered with Ananey Communications, an Israeli television conglomerate boasting 14 channels, for its Israeli broadcast.
Koreshkov enters the fight coming off of a unanimous-decision victory over former UFC titleholder Benson Henderson, while Lima scored a victory over Paul Daley in his most recent bout.
