Bellator light heavyweight champion Ryan Bader headlines the Bellator 199 fight card against “King Mo” Lawal in an opening round bout of the promotion’s Heavyweight World Grand Prix Tournament. The event takes place at the SAP Center in San Jose, Calif. on Saturday and airs on Paramount Network.
Bader tipped the scale at the Bellator 199 official weigh-in a full 20 pounds heavier than the upper limit for the division in which he holds the title. While Bader weighed 225.1 pounds, Lawal tipped the scale at 217.4 pounds for their heavyweight match-up.
The winner between Bader and Lawal moves on to then face Matt Mitrione in the semifinal round. The winner of that bout will then face the winner of Fedor Emelianenko vs. Chael Sonnen in the Grand Prix final.
