The memory of Tuff-N-Uff’s Barry Meyer will be honored at the amateur promotion’s Nov. 29 fight card, according to press release issued on Tuesday.
The founder and longtime president of the organization will be named Chairman Emeritus during the event, which will place at the Orleans Casino in Las Vegas.
“The past month has been a difficult time for the Tuff-N-Uff family,” Tuff-N-Uff Vice President Jeff Meyer said about the loss of his brother. “But I’m proud to help carry on the legacy my brother and I started. We’ll start by honoring Barry and naming him Chairman Emeritus of our promotion, and then we’ll carry on by doing exactly what he would have wanted us to do, and that is to enjoy a great night of mixed martial arts, the sport he truly loved.”
Barry Meyer unexpectedly passed away in October, leaving a lasting legacy in the MMA world. Notable names fought under Meyer’s amateur banner, including Ronda Rousey and Jon Fitch, among others.
Headlining the Nov. 29 Tuff-N-Uff card will be Rousey training partner Marina Shafir going against Tabby Patterson.
