As mixed martial arts continues its rise in popularity in England, the Cage Rage promotion seems to be at the forefront of the sports development in the U.K. Having already featured such prominent fighters as Vitor Ribeiro, Matt Lindland, Jorge Rivera, Renato “Babalu” Sobral, Anderson Silva, Ian Freeman, James Thompson, and more, Cage Rage 14 on December 3rd promises to be their most stacked card to date.

Calling in to MMAWeekly Radio the other day, Phil Baroni said that fans might be surprised where they see him fighting soon. Many were guessing the UFC, but who would have foreseen that he’d appear at Cage Rage? Well, it was just announced that Cage Rage 14 will indeed host a main event featuring the “New York Bad Ass” as he steps into the cage with one of England’s premier fighters, Mark “The Wizard” Weir.

But Cage Rage officials didn’t stop there. Many bouts on the card feature UFC and Pride veterans. Some of the more notable: Curtis Stout vs. Anderson Silva, Jeff Monson vs. Kristof Midoux, Alex Reid vs. Daijiro Matsui, and Travis Lutter vs. Nino Schembri.

As the popularity of MMA rises around the world, it seems that a lot of the smaller promotions are picking up many more of the world class fighters.
