It has been officially announced on Pride’s website that two fights have been signed for the October 23rd “Starting Over” show.

“The Baby Faced Assassin” Josh Barnett will be returning to the ring to take on the last man he fought, Mirko Cro Cop in a highly fueled rematch.

Also on the card will be top heavyweight contender Sergei Kharitonov taking on CroCop’s training partner and ground wizard, Fabricio Werdum.

Barnett vs Cro Cop is a rematch from their fight at Pride 28 a year ago in October. Barnett sustained an injury to his shoulder in the fight that would not allow him to continue. Barnett has a 15-2 record in MMA.

Kharitonov last fought in June at Pride’s Critical Countdown as he defeated Pedro Rizzo by TKO in Round 1. Sergei has just one loss in his 14 fights. That loss came to Minotauro Nogueira back in June of 2004.
