As Shine Fights 3 draws closer to the May 15 fight date another bout has been added to the upcoming card as lightweights Junior Assuncao and Luiz Azeredo are set to do battle in North Carolina on the Worlds Collide pay-per-view.

Assuncao comes into the fight riding a 4-fight win streak including a recent victory over John Mahlow in March in which he submitted his opponent with a guillotine choke. Training alongside his brothers Raphael and Freddy, Junior Assuncao will look to keep the train rolling when he returns to Shine Fights in May.

Stepping in to oppose Assuncao will be former Pride lightweight Luiz Azeredo, who throughout his career has faced some of the stiffest competition in the division.

With bouts against top fighters like Tatsuya Kawajiri, Takanori Gomi, and Paul Daley, Azeredo has never backed down from a challenge. He even holds a win early in his career over UFC middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

The bout will help fill up the undercard for the main event pitting Din Thomas against former world champion boxer Ricardo Mayorga in a catchweight fight of 160lbs.
