Anthony Njokuani vs. Ramsey Nijem Agreed for UFC 141

November 12, 2011

Anthony Njokuani

After not getting to fight at UFC 138 in England, striker Anthony Njokuani will finally get a bout this time against former TUF fighter Ramsey Nijem at UFC 141 to close out 2011.

Sources close to the match-up confirmed the bout to MMAWeekly.com on Saturday. The bout was first reported by MMAJunkie.com.

Anthony Njokuani was in England for his last scheduled fight, but a car accident forced Paul Taylor to pull out of the bout just days before it happened.

The former WEC lightweight was looking to make it two wins in a row when he returned in England, but now he’ll keep that same goal when he faces a former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ runner-up in Dec.

Ramsey Nijem wasn’t successful in his bid to become TUF 13 champion, but he bounced back strong after dropping to lightweight for his last fight.

Nijem dominated former WEC fighter Danny Downes to win his fight at UFC 137, and now looks to make his second appearance at 155lbs just as successful.

The UFC hasn’t officially confirmed the bout between Njokuani and Nijem, so there’s no word yet on where the fight might land from the main card or preliminary card.
