Andy Enz vs. Marcelo Guimaraes Added to UFC Fight Night 43 in San Antonio

AndyEnz_HeadshotA middleweight match-up between Marcelo Guimaraes and Andy Enz has been added to the UFC Fight Night: Swanson vs. Stephens fight card in San Antonio. UFC officials confirmed the bout on Tuesday.

Guimaraes (8-1-1) will return to the middleweight division for the June 28 bout. The former Jungle Fight middleweight champion dropped to the 170-pound weight class for his UFC debut in July 2012. He defeated Dan Stigggen by split decision in his debut but was knocked out by Lim Hyun-Gyu in his last outing as a welterweight. The 30-year-old Brazilian hasn’t fought in more than a year due to injuries. He was scheduled to face Keith Wisniewski in September, but was forced out of the fight due to injury. He last competed on March 3, 2013.

Enz (7-1) appeared on The Ultimate Fighter 17, but did not make it into the fighter house. He was defeated by Uriah Hall during the elimination round. He made his promotional debut at UFC 169 on Feb. 1 against fellow TUF 17 contestant Clint Hester. He lost to Hester by unanimous decision, and hopes to prevent back-to-back losses when he faces Guimaraes.

UFC Fight Night 43 takes place at the AT&T Center in San Antonio on June 28. The event is headlined by a featherweight match-up between Cub Swanson and Jeremy Stephens.
