Welterweight prospect Eddie Alvarez scored another impressive victory on Saturday when he defeated Derrick Noble in the main event of the Mixed Fighting Championship card in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

Noble, whose previous fight was a loss to Thiago Alves in the UFC on April 15th, represented a big step up in competition for Alvarez, whose record improves to 7-0 with the victory. Alvarez scored the KO victory approximately 60 seconds into the fight, thus becoming the MFC Welterweight Champion.

On the undercard, UFC 45 fighter Chris Ligouri defeated Erik Oganov, while Pride and UFC veteran Kenichi Yamamoto fought for the first time in the United States and lost to Kaream Ellington.

Pride Heavyweight Champion Fedor Emelianenko was in attendance to watch the fights of several of his teammates from the Red Devil Sports Club in Russia.
