Alloway-Rodriguez and Loughnane-Wilkinson Finalize UFC on FX 6 Fight Card

December 6, 2012

The fight card for UFC on FX 6, which incorporates the two TUF Smashes finale fights, has been finalized.

The UFC on Wednesday announced two more bouts for the preliminary card, to be held at the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia, on Dec. 15, 2012 (Dec. 14 in the U.S.).

The first of the new fights is between UK lightweight teammates Brendan Loughnane and Mike Wilkinson. Wilkinson suffered an eye injury after his first-round win and was ruled out for the series, but he gets his chance when he fights semifinalist Brendan Loughnane.

The second fight features a similar story when Manny Rodriguez faces off with welterweight Aussie teammate Ben Alloway. Rodriguez suffered a broken leg in his first-round win and was also ruled out, while Alloway lost his semifinal bout to Bradley Scott in a decision. This fight has been a long time in the making as both fighters called each other out prior to being selected to Team Australia.

UK’s Colin ‘The Freak Show’ Fletcher booked his place in the lightweight final with a stoppage win over Richie Vaculik. Fletcher will now face teammate Norman Parke, while UK’s Bradley Scott and Australian Robert Whittaker will face off in the welterweight finale.

In the main event opposing coaches George Sotiropoulos of Australia and Brit Ross Pearson will go to war over five rounds.
