Several bouts for the upcoming Strikeforce event scheduled
for Oct. 3 in the Denver area came to light on Friday. The main event features
local favorite Duane “Bang” Ludwig looking to exact revenge in a rematch with
Ultimate Fighter alumnus Sammy Morgan.

In addition to the main event, bouts already announced are a
super fight between Frank Trigg and Falaniko Vitale, heavyweights Andre Walker
and Patrick Barry, and a super fight featuring Phil Baroni against an, as yet,
unnamed opponent.

Bouts released on Friday include Ultimate Fighting Championship
veteran Pete Spratt returning to the cage to face International Fight League
veteran and local favorite Donnie Liles. Undefeated Strikeforce mainstay Billy
Evangelista takes on UFC veteran Luke Caudillo. “Fighter Girls” star Michelle “Karate
HottieWaterson, another
local fave, returns to Fatal
Femmes Fighting veteran Brandy Nerny.

The Oct. 3 event at the Broomfield Event Center, just
outside of Denver, is latest maneuver by Strikeforce to expand its brand
outside of his home base of San Jose, Calif. The event, dubbed “Payback,” is
scheduled to air live on Mark Cuban’s HDNet high-definition television network,
which recently announced an agreement with Comcast to expand the networks reach
across the United States.
