Ronda Rousey vs Holly Holm UFC 193 MD staredownThe higher the pedestal, the further the fall, but the person that ended Rousey’s reign doesn’t think the negativity expressed toward the former champion is warranted.

“I don’t want any of that to happen,” Holm told TMZ Sports. “I do feel that I come from maybe a little more humble spot, but that’s just because I don’t ever want to say that I’m this good or I’m that and have something happen to look like a fool.

“Ronda’s been a very dominant champ and has taking the sport to new levels. This fight wouldn’t have happened if she didn’t accomplish what she’s accomplished,” added the newly crowned champion.

“I think people can be pretty brutal, and when she’s in the spot that she’s in that people are going to jump ship and I don’t ever wish for that.”
