An injury has force welterweight Zak Cummings out of his scheduled fight with Sergio Moraes at The Ultimate Fighter 18 Finale. Sean Spencer will now face Moraes on the Nov. 30 fight card.
UFC officials announced the injury and opponent change on Wednesday.
Moraes (8-2) appeared on The Ultimate Fighter: Brazil. He lost his official promotional debut at UFC 147 to Cezar Ferreira by decision, but has strung together back-to-back submission wins over Renee Forte and Neil Magny in his last two outings. He earned Submission of the Night for his mounted triangle submission over Magny.
Spencer (10-2) debuted in the UFC in January, losing by submission to Rafael Natal. He bounced back from the loss with a split decision win over Yuri Villefort on Sept. 4 and hopes to expand his winning streak.
Cummings (16-3) made his way to the UFC through The Ultimate Fighter’s seventeenth season. He won his fight to get into the fighter house, but was defeated by eventual semi-finalist Dylan Andrews in the elimination round. Cummings had a successful UFC debut in August, winning Submission of the Night for his d’arce choke win over Ben Alloway.
The nature of the injury or how long Cummings will be sidelined remains unknown.
