World Series of Fighting 6 main event fighters Josh Burkman and Steve Carl both weighed in at exactly 169.6 pounds at the official weigh-in for the inaugural WSOF Welterweight World Championship title, which will take place on Saturday night at the BankUnited Center in Coral Gables, Fla.
The live two-hour NBC Sports Network telecast will begin at 9 p.m. ET / 6 p.m. PT. Preliminary bouts stream live on MMAWeekly.com at 6:30 p.m. ET and venue doors open at 5 p.m. ET.
Burkman (26-9) leaned over and whispered something to Carl (20-3) during their faceoff for photographers. “He just said he was glad it was me he was facing and that I deserved this shot,” Carl said.
“I have a lot of respect for him and he deserves to be here more than anyone,” said Burkman. “This is the biggest fight I’ve ever had to fight for the inaugural belt in the World Series of Fighting. It’s a big night for both of us.”
