Stephen Wonderboy ThompsonA welterweight bout has been added to UFC 154 in Montreal as the karate kid Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson takes on Besam Yousef.

The new fight was announced on Tuesday via UFC Tonight.

Both fighters will be looking to bounce back after recent losses.

Following a spectacular knockout debut, Stephen ‘Wonderboy’ Thompson lost a close fight to former Ultimate Fighter competitor Matt Brown in his next bout at UFC 145 in Atlanta. Now he’ll look to move back on the winning track when he fights in Montreal in November.

Besam Yousef will be looking for his first win in the Octagon after losing to Simeon Thoresen at UFC on Fuel 2 in April.

The two welterweights will square off as part of the UFC 154 undercard.

This one’s gonna be a sleeper. It likely won’t win FOTN, but it’ll be a tremendous fight between two fun prospects, who I think should stay on fans’ radars regardless of the outcome.

I really hope “Wonderboy” Thompson wins the fight. That way I can see him do that celebration “ninja spin move” that he does right after he wins.

Totally agree with you guys. I’m really cheering for Thompson. He’s a perfect example of what happens if you have a weak link in your chain, so to speak.

He really needs to work on that ground game. If he can get that to a respectable level, then he’s golden.

I’m happy to see the UFC give him an opponent who won’t play right into Thomson’s weaknesses, like with Brown. This guy needs to stay in the UFC, but if they give him brawling, ground-and-pounders before he can develop his ground game, he’ll be out of the UFC.
