The Worldwide Fighting Championship Announces Arrival in Denver, Colorado…
The Worldwide Fighting Championship announces “Clash of the Titans,” mixed martial arts fighting event, set for September 24, 2005 at the Denver Coliseum.
The goal is simple: bring to Denver, the greatest mixed martial arts event in the history of the city. The WFC brings the top talent in the business to a city that is ready for the next level in MMA Entertainment. In addition to the world class fighting talent competiting in the event, the WFC will bring such renowned names as The Ultimate Fighter, reality-based TV series winner Forrest Griffin. The hugely successful series is in its second season and airs on Spike TV, Monday nights. International fighting sensation Heath Herring and the former Ultimate Fighting Championship Heavyweight Champion Frank Mir, will also be in attendance to oversee the event as special guests.
Local, Denver fighter and former four-time World Kickboxing Champion John the “Annihilator” Cronk will square-off against Vale Tudo, veteran Sean McCully, in one of the “Super fight,” Main Events.
Former K-1 fighter Joe “Diesel,” Ford will put it on the line against Marc Sursa. Fort Collins fighter Jake “Thunder,” Hattan will battle Justin “Evil,” Popovich as a part of the 10 fight card that will also include UFC 1 veteran Zane “Nasty,” Frazier against Don Hinzman, in the other “Super Fight,” Main Event.

The WFC invites you to participate in the week-long series of events culminating in the Saturday night show. Festivities include:
– Tuesday night September 20 5 PM – the WFC will hold a free “Grappling for Women’s Self Defense and Protection,” seminar at The Grappler’s Edge Academy (5305 E. Colfax, Denver CO.), Hosted by Martial Arts Hall of Fame Instructor Sensei Sheldon Marr.
– Wednesday Night September 21 8 PM – The WFC will hold a press conference and meet-and-greet with local fighters and local music acts to announce the WFC will donate a portion of the net profits to the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Will be held at Brewski’s , 9 30 PM (1451 Cortez Street, Denver CO.).
– Friday night, September 23 4 PM Press Conference and fighter weigh-ins. All fighters will be made available to answer questions and pose for pictures. This event will also be open to the public for autographs and pictures at The ESPN Zone (1187 16th Street, Tabor Center 16th Street Mall.).
– Saturday night, September 24 6 PM – WFC Presents “Clash of the Titans,” at the Denver Coliseum (4600 Humboldt Street). Doors open at 6 30 PM. An after party will follow the event and Denver’s premier nightclub: RISE (1909 Blake Street).
