ROUND-BY-ROUND:

Charlie Valencia vs. Ian McCall

RD1: Both fighters trade strikes to start, McCall being the aggressor. Valencia lands a nice combination that hurts McCall and forces him to shoot in but Valencia defends and back on their feet. McCall starts to throw some nice combinations and Valencia responds. Valencia drops McCall with a right hand and tries to finish with punches but gets his back and suplexs McCall on his head. McCall gets back up and Valencia landing punches and McCall goes for a takedown but gets caught in a guillotine choke that forces him to tap.

Brian Bowles vs. Marcos Galvao

RD1: Bowles comes out with a quick combination that backs Galvao up. They trade strikes and clinch against the fence with Bowles landing a low blow. The action is restarted and Galvao lands a nice low kick. Bowles comes in with a combination and Galvao backs up. Galvao lands a knee to the body and Bowles lands a nice combination. Galvao goes for a takedown and Bowles defends and they’re clinched. Galvao goes for a judo throw but Bowles defends and they take the center of the cage. Bowles looks more comfortable on the feet as he lands a nice combination. Galvao goes for a takedown and Bowles defends well. Bowles landing some nice combinations and Galvao gets a takedown. Bowles gets back up to his feet and they finish the rround circling each other.

RD2: Bowles comes out with a crisp combination and Galvao goes for a takedown but Bowles defends well and shrugs him off. Bowles lands a nice right hook and follows out with a combination that drops Galvao. Bowles landing punches as Galvao goes for a kneebar. Bowles escapes back to his feet and Galvao is still hurt. Bowles continues to land strikes and knocks Galvao out with a right hook.

Alex Karalexis vs. Ed Ratcliff

RD1: Ratcliff throws a low kick and they trade strikes. Ratcliff with another low kick and Karalexis clinches up. Karalexis going for a takedown and gets Ratcliff’s back standing up. Karalexis working for the choke but Ratcliff defending well. They go to the ground and Ratcliff escapes, lands a stunning body kick and misses a spinning wheel kick. Karalexis gets Ratcliff’s back again and takes him down but Ratcliff stands up and Karalexis goes for the choke. Ratcliff is able to escape and reverses Karalexis, he lands a barrage of elbows from side control. Back on their feet, Ratcliff drops Karalexis and mounts him, landing a barrage of punches as the round ends.

RD2: Ratcliff lands a nice right hand and continues to stalk Karalexis. Ratcliff drops Karalexis with a combination but stops for the referee to stop the fight and then continues to punish Karalexis. He mounts him and lands a barrage of punches that forces the referee to stop the fight.

Bryan Baker vs. Eric Schambari

RD1: Schambari lands a nice punch and they start to trade punches. Schambari lands a nice combination and slams Baker to the ground. Baker goes for a triangle choke but Schambari defends well. He is caught in the triangle and escapes after a struggle. Schambari gets Baker’s back but Baker escapes and reverses Schambari. Baker lands some nice punches from the top. Baker mounts Schambari and lands some solid punches but Schambari reverses but is caught in a triangle choke. Schambari escapes and is in side mount, landing some nice knees to the body. Schambari isolates Baker’s arm and lands some punches as the round ends.

RD2: They start the round slow but Schambari lands a combination and gets a takedown. Baker trying to defend as Schambari tries to finish the takedown. Baker gets back to his feet but Schambari still going for the takedown. They hit the ground and Baker goes for an anaconda choke but lands knees to Schambari’s shoulder. Schambari still trying to get the takedown but Baker defending well. Schambari finally gets the takedown after a long struggle. Schambari landing punches as baker goes for an armbar then transitions to an omoplata as the round ends.

RD3: Schambari lands another combination before going for a takedown. Baker once again is defending well. Schambari finishes the takedown and secures Baker’s back. Schambari goes for a choke but Baker escapes and then Schambari mounts him before getting his back again. Baker is defending well and reverses Schambari then mounts him. Baker is pounding on Schambari as he gets Schambari’s back. Baker is landing punches as he mounts him again but Schambari reverses him. Baker goes for an armbar but Schambari escapes and Baker lands a nice up kick. Schambari lands into a triangle but defends well and slams Baker as the fight ends.

John Alessio vs. Todd Moore

RD1: Moore misses a combination and then goes for a takedown. Alessio defends and Moore gets his back as Alessio goes for a kimura. They hit the ground and Alessio has Moore’s arm but Moore escapes to his feet. Moore lands shots in the clinch. Clinched along the fence and Alessio gets a takedown. Alessio in half guard but Moore escapes to his feet. Alessio goes for a takedown but Moore defends well. They seperate and trade strikes as they clinch along the fence. Alessio gets a takedown but Moore reverses and goes for the back but Alessio lands a series of punches as the round ends.

RD2: Moore comes out punching as Alessio responds with a combination. They stalk each other and Alessio gets the clinch and Alessio lands some good knees. They break and Alessio lands some stinging punches then a big knee as they clinch along the fence. They break to the center and Moore lands a nice combination as Alessio responds with his own combination. Both guys with some dirty boxing as Alessio mixes in knees too. Moore goes for a takedown and gets caught in a guillotine choke from to. Alessio mounts him and lands elbows as Alessio goes for another guillotine choke as the round ends.

RD3: Moore goes for a takedown as Alessio goes for a guillotine choke. Alessio goes for Moore’s back but Moore reverses him and gets caught in a guillotine choke. Moore escapes and lands some elbows as Alessio escapes to his feet. They clinch in the corner then break as they trade strikes. Alessio scoring with knees in the clinch as they hit the ground. Alessio goes for the back and Moore escapes to his feet. Alessio landing knees in the clinch as they break again. Moore landing some good punches as Alessio gets a takedown and lands some punches as the round ends.

Doug Marshall vs. Ariel Gandulla

RD1: The fighters circle each other early on. Marshall attempts a flying knee but misses. Gandulla ends up in Marshall’s guard. The “Rhino” goes for a triangle choke and then transitions into an armbar. The Cuban fighter tapped shortly after.

Paulo Filho vs. Chael Sonnen

RD1: Sonnen throws jabs right away. Chael stuns Paulo with a right hook and throws him down. Sonnen tells the ref that “He’s out” but the fight continues. Filho weathers the storm from his guard against the cage. Sonnen attempts a darce choke but Paulo defends. The two fighters stand again. Sonnen takes Paulo down and falls into a guillotine attempt. Chael escapes and is comfortable throwing strikes from half guard.

RD2: Fighters clinch against the cage, Paulo is unsuccessful at getting the takedown. The fighters move back to the center and Sonnen gets a takedown. Chael leans the Brazilian up against the fence and throws punches from Filho’s guard. Sonnen is landing shots as Paulo seems unable to break free from the fence. With 11 seconds remaining, Filho secures an armbar and ref Josh Rosenthal halts the fight. Sonnen argues that he did not tap.

The fans boo as the final decision was announced.

Jens Pulver vs. Cub Swanson

RD1: Cub attempts a single leg takedown right away. Jens sprawls and sets a anaconda choke. Swanson tries to position his way out from his back but is forced to tap.

Urijah Faber vs. Jeff Curran

RD1: Both fighters exchange punches and Curran gets Faber down, transitions to side mount. Curran takes Fabers back, gets the body lock and looks to sink in the RNC. Curran throws punches from behind and Urijah defends all choke attempts. Faber reverses into Curran’s guard with about a minute left in the round. Faber throws elbows but Curran defends well.

RD2: Curran sprawls and the two clinch against the cage. Faber attempts to throw Curran which allows Jeff to fall into his guard. Curran took Faber’s back but Urijah reverses into Curran’s guard near the cage. Jeff has a cut on his nose. Curran lands an up kick from his back. Curran gets up and goes for a single leg takedown and Faber secures a guillotine choke. The champion falls to the mat for extra leverage and Curran was forced to tap.
