Following an exciting night of fights in Las Vegas which brought the WEC one show closer to merging with the UFC, the Nevada State Athletic Commission handed down medical suspensions for the show including main event fighter Urijah Faber.
Faber was complaining after the show about a sore shoulder so much so that he had a bag of ice placed on the area during the post fight press conference. The commission verified the injury and placed Faber under suspension for at least 6 months unless he can have his left shoulder cleared by an orthopedist.
His opponent Takeya Mizugaki who was choked unconscious during the final fight, was only suspended for 45 days with no contact until 12/12/10.
