Wanderlei Silva and Fedor Emelianenko were two of the most popular fighters from the Pride FC era in Japan, where New Year’s Eve is more than a holiday, it’s the focal point of MMA in Japan.

Perhaps now more than ever, when MMA is on the downswing in the Land of the Rising sun, New Year’s Eve is still the focal point of the sport. And Wanderlei and Fedor aren’t about to miss out on it.

No, neither of them will be fighting – although their Pride compatriot Cro Cop is – but Wanderlei and Fedor are in Japan for the Inoki Bom-Ba-Ye show and palling around for New Year’s Eve, and they’re as popular as ever.
