An injury has forced Vitor Belfort out of his upcoming bout at UFC 139 so instead Wanderlei Silva will face Cung Le in his Octagon debut in San Jose.

UFC President Dana White tweeted the news on Wednesday.

“Vitor is injured and out of San Jose fight. Now Cung Le will fight Wandy!” White wrote.

Wanderlei Silva steps in just a few months after his entire UFC career came into question following a knockout loss to Chris Leben in July.

The legendary Pride fighter has gone 1-3 in his last 4 fights, but maintains that he wants to keep on competing so he’ll get his chance in Nov against former Strikeforce middleweight champion Cung Le.

The bout between Silva and Le will still maintain the co-main event slot that the original fight had as well.

UFC 139 goes down Nov 19 in San Jose with Silva v. Le as well as the main event pitting Dan Henderson against Mauricio ‘Shogun’ Rua.

If he does that is it in the UFC. WAR WANDY

Love this fight for both guys!!! I did not understand feeding Kung Lee to the beast known as Vitor. Vitor would have walked thru Lee. This has the chance to be a stand up war that could go down as the years best fight with most likely KO of the night going to one of them. Come on Wandy go three rounds and take him out in the third.

Wow, Cung Le went from facing one of the most dangerous opponents to an easy win.

I can’t wait. Cung Le fighting this guy. Thing is I think Wanderlei has the knockout bug now, and I’m not sure after watching a couple of his last fights that he’s the badass he used to be.

Once you get that knockout bug…

But Cung Le – He fights real martial arts in the righ and does it well. That’s why he’s so fun to watch.
