Vitor Belfort vs Dan Henderson Pride 32It appears that UFC president Dana White has finally found a suitable opponent for Vitor Belfort.

UFC Tonight on Tuesday reported that Belfort and Dan Henderson have verbally agreed to a rematch. The bout, although as yet unsigned, is being targeted for a Nov. 9 event in Brazil that has not yet been officially announced.

It was unclear at the time of the report at what weight the two would meet. Belfort has consistently stated that he does not want to take another fight at middleweight unless it is for the UFC middleweight championship.

He has also said that he would fight at any other weight from a catchweight to light heavyweight on up to heavyweight.

Henderson, like Belfort, has slid back and forth between middleweight and light heavyweight throughout his career, so it’s most likely that the two would meet at a catchweight or 205 pounds.

Belfort (23-10) enters the fight off of back-to-back knockout victories of Michael Bisping and Luke Rockhold at middleweight, while Henderson lost his last two fights, to Lyoto Machida and Rashad Evans at light heavyweight.

    “Anyone but Chael”, right Dana?

  • Collideoverme

Hendo didn’t lose to either, both were bad decisions. Especially the Evans fight.

    • Jay Mcgarrity

I’m a Hendo fan but what were you watching in the Machida fight? There were 2 losers in that fight, 3 if you want to count the fans as a whole. I scored the fight against Rashad for Hendo but it could’ve gone either way. There have been much worse decisions.

      • Collideoverme

        Yeah, there have been.
I am wondering where the Hendo that Ko’d Fedor is. That fight was fast and aggressive…He’s been lackluster lately. I still think he won the two fights, but agree that could have gone either way.

    • Cptmats

Sry man, Hendo lost both those fights.

  • Kenny powers

I thought for sure they were gonna make vitor vs chael. But this should be good

  • Vitor will win, unless Henderson takes it to decisions.

    • sarcasticball

Not sure about that Vitor had problem whit wrestler his entire carer… and decison or not a win is a win!

      • drkdisciple

How about his loses to Tito and Couture?

        • John Bunch

I think that’s what he’s saying, that Vitor has problems with wrestlers, like Hendo. I can’t see anyone turning the TV off after this fight and thinking it was boring.

          • sarcasticball

            It’s exactly what I meant.

          • Ian Price

I think what he meant is that Vitor has had problems with wrestlers. And Hendo is a wrestler, and therefore, as such, he could potentially have problems with Hendo, on account of his wrestling.

          • sarcasticball

            I hope so…

        • sarcasticball

Maybe I wasn’t clear, but I just wanna said that Vitor has always had problems against wrestlers. So I don’t think he will win against Henderson even if I really enjoy his fighting style.

          • drkdisciple

            sorry my bad!

    • Maddawgmar

Henderson has never been KO’d in his career. And I think he will keep it standing. So either Henderson KO’s Vitor or decision. My Pick is Henderson in this fight.

      • Ian Price

Understand that Hendo hasn’t fought many with Vitor’s power and speed. Maybe rampage? If anyone can KO Hendo, it’s Vitor. That said, I think Vitor will be the one who gets KO’ed. Round 3.

  • Dragon Kid

No TRT for either guys should be good =p

    • fsunoles10

didnt hendo fight his last fight without it? i know somebody did i just cant remember if it was him or not.

  • onehitwonder

    Great Match up !!

  • rapidfire

another fight in Brazil for Vitor??
wtf?? how long are they gonna give vitor a pass to abuse TRT??

    • Ian Price

Ok Vitor, if its not an issue, take a fight in the states. Just one fight. I dare you.

      • marrk_us

I’ve always been a Vitor fan, but the ‘hiding out’ in Brazil along with the late career fountain of youth has become the elephant in the room. I so hoped Vitor’s next fight would be in the states instead of Brazil or Canada so the issue would be put to rest, like it has been for Chael. Don’t want the UFC to be the next MLB or Vitor the next Alister Overiod.

    • Werdoomb

dude, Hendo is on TRT too. It’s TRT vs TRT.

  • I’m I the only one who’s going to come out and say I much I appreciate this match up and am excited for it? Two legends with heart and aggression going at it.

    • John Bunch

Completely agree! Two old school warriors that are still very much dangerous now. This could end up like Shogun/Hendo…

    • TheCerealKiller

I love this fight! This fight will not go the distance, not even a third round. I think Dan is way to slow for Vitor, but you never know when he bomb might land.

      • Dangerous fight. And with Vitor next in line at MW, it may intrigue Hendo to finish him and possibly get another shot at the MW belt against Silva or Weidman.

  • Manuel Lopez

Go Hendo!!! Take his head off!

    • Ian Price

If hendo wins, I hope it lowers Vitor’s stock so he gets no MW title shot.

      • shakejunt

oh it would for sure. dan’s hype is gone, if he beats vitor it’ll be violent. definitely hurts his run.

  • james j

First things first, Machida ran from Hendo the whole match and did his usual point fighting MMA, which no one likes.

I am looking forward to this fight. Both guys will bring it.

    • Troll Killer

Machida beat Hendo, get over it. Machida and Vitor though have different styles.

Since Vitor is more of a boxer, he’ll be in closer range for Hendo. However, Vitor still has a big handspeed advantage and overall quickness over Hendo, who needs to set up his H-Bomb better.

      • james j

Yes, I am finally over the Henderson Machida fight. I was really dwelling on it Troll Killer.

The one consistent thing about Machida is that he runs from every opponent and the crowd constantly boo him. I will not watch this clown fight again. And also again thank you for the therapy troll killer.

        • ElbowSlice

I agree james j. Machida is not even worthy of being on the Facebook Prelims. Most boring fighter ever. In the Hendo v Machida fight, if the judges had awarded any points at all for aggression and octagon control, then Hendo would have won. Machida ran like a sissy the whole fight.

        • Lucas Freire

That’s why he KOed Couture,Rashad and Bader.
You’re actually underestimating everyone he fights. Other than Lyoto vs Shogun II and his fight against Jones, he’s ALWAYS the one who deals most significant strikes.

      • shakejunt

don’t think he’s trolling, buddy. machida has been running since the tito fight.

  • drkdisciple

Do they offer TRT free singles?

  • bajafox

Isn’t there already a PPV in November? This fight will most likely will be for free, which makes it even more awesome than it already is

  • Kbroesq

At least this fight will be fair. Both of these guys are cheaters. I hope Hendo wins, but only because I just loathe Belfort. The guy is one more TRT shot in the balls away from becoming a Silverback Gorilla

The last post fight press conference after his fight with Rockhold was the final nail in his coffin with me. Damon Martin asked him at the post fight presser about the TRT, and Belfort not only yelled at him, but because they were in Brazil (land of a media that does not know the word ‘neutrality’), Belfort basically had the Brazilian media turn on the Martin for simply asking a question the fans are curious about. Also, Belfort refused to answer the question.

  • ElbowSlice

Both guys on TRT, but Vitor is obviously on higher doses. I hope Hendo ramps up his dosage before this fight to make it more even. Would be cool for Hendo to knock him out.

Put Chael P. Sonnen vs Wanderlai on this card too !!!

  • BobGyro

you all do not know what the hell you are talking about

  • The guest of guests

Lol Gyro, come on, some of em do. Should be a great fight, hoping for Henderson. Vitor isn’t the point scoring type so i’m hoping for a brawl also, in which case i’d pick Hendo granted Vitors hand speed is a good threat to anyone. Would be nice to see an H-bomb but i’m not sure about that one, we’ll see what happens.

  • shakejunt

good fight on paper. but why?
