While the majority of the mixed martial arts world and beyond are up in arms over the Nevada Athletic Commission handing Nick Diaz a five-year suspension and hefty fine after charging him with testing positive for marijuana – his third infraction in the state – UFC president Dana White didn’t exactly jump to his defense.
A little older and a little wiser, White declined to condemn the commission over the Diaz punishment during a recent trip to Australia with Ronda Rousey to promote UFC 193. White actually jumped in the midst of a question about Diaz that was directed at Rousey, perhaps more so to deflect the question away from his hottest star than it was because he wanted to answer.

But for those that are familiar with him, White isn’t generally all that quick to give the commission the benefit of the doubt, but considering Diaz’s past, and without all of the facts in hand, White was … measured … in his comments.
