Now-former UFC middleweight Chael Sonnen announced his retirement on Wednesday, bringing on end quotable pre-fight interviews and epic post-win monologues.

Sonnen shared his thoughts on UFC Tonight, where the fighter thanked coaches, training partners, and everyone else that’s stood by him in his 17-year career.

“I am officially done,” he said. “I will not step foot in that Octagon again.”

Chapel is a very good speaker so it’s kind of hard to tell if he is for real or just a wordsmith

I always liked Chael, but his lack of credibility is going to hurt him for awhile as an announcer. Then all will be forgotten.

    What Chael took was:
    – not a performance enhancer BUT a performance DECREASER
    – what he NEEDED to take to comply with the TRT ban regulation

People have a skewed image of Chael as a fighter…he was a way more exciting talker than fighter
