Urijah FaberA bantamweight match-up between Urijah Faber and Alex Caceres has been verbally agreed to take place at UFC 175, officials announced on Wednesday.

The 135-pound affair, which was first reported by ESPN.com, is scheduled to take place on July 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.

A fan favorite, Faber (30-7) is coming off a loss in his attempt at winning the company’s bantamweight title against champion Renan Barao. Faber has gone 4-2 over the last two years, each of his two losses coming at the hands of Barao.

Caceres (10-5, 1 NC) has won four in row, minus a no-contest against Kyung Ho Kang, due to a failed drug test by Caceres.

UFC 175 is scheduled to be headlined by a middleweight title fight between champion Chris Weidman and challenger Lyoto Machida.

Haha, wow talking about your mismatches. Good for cacares I gues big fight but it won’t last long.

Faber by 1st round ko or trademark choke.

    • This guyyyyy

      Yup, Faber by Guillotine.

They should call this the Money in the Bank match, a fight no one cares about and nothing will come of it. except a paycheck for the two fighters.

can’t wait to see the betting lines on this

Huge step up in competition for Caceres or more like a giant leap.
This ain’t going to be pretty.

Bruce Leroy has officially thrown to the wolves.

i care about this match and think bruce leroy is fun to watch but i don’t see him winning. still though the possibility however slim it may be of faber losing this one makes this match one to watch.

This fight makes no sense what so ever. Faber’s last fight was for the title…and Bruce LeeRoy is on a bit of a streak…but he hasn’t even fought a guy in the top 10 this is a HUGE step up for him. I think he should have fought maybe a top 5-10 guy before going to the #2 or 3 guy in the division. Very Dangerous for Faber too should he loose.

I agree because hell if he beats Faber he should
get a title shot this fight is way too soon for Leroy

I kind of expected this match up at some point not now though..i believe People are sleeping on Caceres because it’s Uirjah Faber don’t sleep on this kid his striking is 10 times better than Fabers and he has a humongous Reach advantage.. he’s also good keeping distance Faber will either do his normal thing or get picked apart. Bank on it.

Don’t be silly. I like bruce Leeroy a lot but it is a rediculous matchup man. His striking is not better than Faber’s, are you kidding? These guys are not even in the same ballpark. Please think before you type.
