Entering the Octagon via the seventeenth season of The Ultimate Fighter, Hall (10-5) was widely regarded as “the next big thing.” Those expectations took a major blow when he lost the TUF 17 Finale to Kelvin Gastelum and his next fight to John Howard.
To say that Riggs’ (40-16, 1 NC) return to the UFC has been a rough one would be an understatement. Initially planning to return in September of 2014, Riggs suffered a self-inflicted gunshot wound that sidelined him for several weeks.
He finally got back in the Octagon in December, but lost to Ben Saunders. Riggs followed that with a loss to Patrick Cote in April. So he’s desperate to get a victory over Hall, otherwise, he may be looking at another pink slip.
