Former ESPN host Jon Anik will be jumping into the UFC fold very soon, and in January he starts hosting a new show on Fuel TV as well.
UFC officials announced on Friday that Anik, who was announced as a new UFC commentator this week, will serve as host for ‘Ultimate Insider’, a magazine show that debuts on Fuel TV in January.
The UFC has teased at all the programming that will come along with their new deal at Fox and this appears to just be the latest.
Anik’s role within the UFC will be multi-faceted as he takes over play-by-play commentating duties for the live fights on FX and Fuel.
Anik will also serve as host for the new ‘Ultimate Fighter’ that launches in 2012 in a new ‘live’ format on Friday nights on FX.
“The UFC is one of the strongest brands in sports, and in my opinion, it’s the greatest sport in the world. The product speaks for itself. More frequently than any other sport, the UFC delivers. I had the chance to be on the road at UFC events when I was with ESPN and what separates the UFC from other sports is that it prides itself on being hands-on and fan-friendly,” said Anik.
“I look forward to helping play a small role in bringing the UFC to as many people across the world as possible. I’m really excited to a part of an organization that is filled with quality people who are the best in the world at what they do.”
It’s not taking long for Anik to get his feet wet within the UFC and it looks like he’ll be a very busy man in 2012.
