Round 1: Pokrajac spent the entire walk-out staring down Bonnar and that anger translated into the opening bell where Pokrajac storms Bonnar with an onslaught of punches.  A nice straight right lands for Pokrajac, but his agressiveness opens him up and Bonnar takes him to the ground with a body lock.  Pokrajac does a good job of posting, and manages to get back to his feet.  Bonnar is moving from side to side peppering his jab.  Pokrajac telegraphs Bonnar’s movement and stops him with a 1-2 combo.  Bonnar seemingly has a deep darce choke on Pokrajac, but he pulls out and Bonnar is now postured up landing punches from Igor’s guard.   Bonnar now lands into Pokrajac’s half guard and is looking to posture to do more damage.  Bonnar does a beautiful job at posturing up and transferring to side control after he shucked Igor’s legs away.  Pokrajac turtles up and Bonnar now has side control from the back, and he is looking to sink in his hooks.  Bonnar landing nice shots to Pokrajac’s head as the round ends, and Igor briefly gets to his feet. MMAWeekly.com scores round one 10-9 for Bonnar.

Round 2: A right hook opens the round for Pokrajac as he pushes Bonnar to the cage.  Bonnar turns into Pokrajac and is now pummeling him against the cage with dirty boxing and knees to the body.  Bonnar now has the Thai clinch and is combo’ing knees to the body and eventually drops levels for an unsuccessful takedown attempt.  Pokrajac turns into Bonnar looking for a hip toss, but Bonnar stifles his momentum and reverses the throw and now finds himself in north/south position on Pokrajac.  Bonnar landing shots from north/south as his corner, Sergio Penha and Steve Cantwell cheer him on.  Pokrajac frees himself and pressures Bonnar against the cage.  Bonnar uses Pokrajac’s momentum and turns him into the cage, while grabbing the Thai clinch and landing some effective knees once again.  Pokrajac uses underhooks and gains the clinch now and lands some very effective short elbows to Bonnar’s skull.  A beautiful 1-2 by Igor rocks Bonnar as his mouthpiece flys out on the canvas in front of me.  Pokrajac follows up with more brutal strikes as Bonnar retreats.  Bonnar somehow recovers as the round comes to an end and is actually landing some punches of his own on Pokrajac.  MMAWeekly.com scores round two 10-9 for Bonnar.  Referee Steve Mazzagatti also took a point from Pokrajac for knees to the head, which makes the score 10-8 for Bonnar.

Round 3: Bonnar opens with a spinning back kick that just misses.  Bonnar leaves himself open and Pokrajac rushes in with a few strikes.  In the scramble, Bonnar latches on to Pokrajac and drags him to the ground where he is now in Igor’s guard landing effective elbows and hammer fists.  A lunging right hook from a postured Bonnar connects on Pokrajac’s chin.  Bonnar now has Pokrajac’s head pinned against the cage and he is landing more strikes.  More ground and pount from Bonnar as the crowd chants his name, we are approaching the half-way point of round 3.   Pokrajac turtles once again, and Bonnar now has his back in side control.    While trying to sink his right hook in, Bonnar gives up position and Pokrajac rolls him over and is now in his guard.  Bonnar then bucks Pokrajac and turns a gorgeous switch and now, once again, finds himself in Pokrajac’s half guard.  The crowd begins chanting Bonnar’s name again, “Bonnar! Bonnar! Bonnar!”   The round ends with Stephan Bonnar controlling Igor Prokrajac in a crucifix.  In the melee, Bonnar hits Prokrajac in the back of the head a few times and Mazzagatti halts the action and takes a point from Bonnar. MMAWeekly.com scores round three 10-9 for Bonnar, but with the one point deduction, it is a 9-9 draw. MMAWeekly.com scores the fight 29-26 for Bonnar.
