14-louis-gaudinot-tuf14-wUFC flyweight Louis Gaudinot denies any intentional violation that resulted in a failed post-fight exam of his March 8 fight at UFC Fight Night in London.

In a statement forwarded by his representatives to MMAWeekly.com, Gaudinot said he respects the UFC’s choice to suspend him for a positive test revealing a banned diuretic in his system, but asserts that the result came to him as a surprise.

“While I deny any wrongdoing, I will respect the decision of the UFC and look forward to getting back in the cage in pursuit of the UFC flyweight championship,” Gaudinot said.

“I have great respect for the UFC the sport of MMA and my opponent,” he added. “I would never do anything to disrespect any of them. I would also never do anything to tarnish my name, my teammates and family.”

The UFC confirmed reports on Friday that Gaudinot tested positive for hydrochlorothiazide, a banned substance, in a post-fight urine test that took place after his most recent UFC bout. The positive test resulted in the fighter receiving a six-month suspension retroactive to the date of the fight.

With Gaudinot failing the post-fight exam, the result of his March fight with Phil Harris was changed to a no-contest. Gaudinot originally defeated Harris by submission.

Do these idiots really think they are believable? “Oh, I’m just as shocked as you are that I somehow inadvertently took a prescribed drug without knowing it that just so happens, coincidentally, to help me cut weight”.
I’d love to see him take a polygraph test now. In fact, he should have to pay for it and then get suspended again for failing that. All these other idiots as well. I think the numbers you see testing positive are just the tip of the iceberg. At some point one of these home chemists is going to die in competition. Bad s–t can happen when you mess with your body’s water, salts and potassium.

diuretics are used for high blood pressure just so you all know. its not any form of PED.

Wow, you’re dumber that he is. You think he was taking hydrochlorothiazide because he had high blood pressure? If he needed it to control high blood pressure then he could have applied for a waiver. Also, he would have had a prescription. Whether or not it is a “performance enhancing” by your definition is irrelevant. It is banned because it can be dangerous and gives an unfair advantage making weight.

Chillax man, just trying to be open minded about the situation(like an adult). Sure chances are hes using it for unfair advantage, but that doesn’t mean we can generalize and not give him the benefit of the doubt. We aren’t even sure if he has prescription or not, we just cant assume that he doesnt(have prescription) just because it isn’t in the news.
