Ronda Rousey UFC 157UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey is breaking new ground every day, and everyone seems to be taking notice.

Rousey’s latest honor is landing on the Business Insider list of “50 Women Who Are Changing the Word.”

Landing at No. 42 on the list, Business Insider had the following to say about Rousey:

Thanks to martial arts fighter Ronda Rousey, women now fight in the UFC.

The trash-talking Olympian qualified for the Athens games when she was only 17, and was the youngest judo competitor enlisted. In 2006, she became the first U.S. female athlete in nearly 10 years to win an A-Level tournament when she took home the gold metal at the Birmingham World Cup in Great Britain.

She also graced the cover of ESPN’s body issue last year.

Melinda Gates topped the list. She and her husband, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, have turned the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation into the world’s philanthropic organization.

Other notables on the list include First Lady Michelle Obama, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg, former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor, amongst others.

Oh man! I’m just going to sit back and watch all the Randa hate talk.

Glad to oblige you. When this idiot denied the existence of children who were shot to death at school, she stopped influencing me or anyone with an ounce of decency.

Once the UFC stops pandering to her with easy opponents, this moron will be KO’d.

      • dust

You’re hate blinded or just stupid. She is the best female fighter and you just disrespected her opponents with your whiny babbling.

        • urdooomb

you gotta give credit where its due.

She is not as annoying as some of the trash talking whiners the UFC had as champs, example, Tito, Mir..etc.

      • urdooomb

Wouldn’t call Tate or Zingano easy opponents.

        • http://twitter.com/TinyBrando Eric Lynch

          Why not?

    Business Insider lol

Rousey is not even recognized outside USA, she’s an emerging star in a niche sport …

    • urdooomb

      That is Jon Jones.

Ronda is a emerging star in a niche sport that is predominantly male biased.

      • Stefano ‘Zwonimir’ Sega Nogaro

agree, and to generalize a part of the fanbase are white trash/skinheads or similar, at least for what I saw in different countries about MMA …

my point is that Ronda as Bones as GSP as Anderson are barely recognized outside USA and their native countries, hard to say that they’ll have a big impact and change the world. There are tons of women athletes that are far more popular than Ronda in the world and arguably are better sport models.

        • urdooomb

yeah but those are sports that have established pro women’s division a long time ago. The LPGA or Women’s Tennis pay their athletes with a lot of money and there are a ton of sponsorship opportunities for top players and attractive ones.

And then you have WNBA, Women’s soccer and women’s boxing which are not popular sports but nonetheless have been around for a while.

Then you have MMA, by far the most male oriented sport. If you think women’s NFL is extreme, think about women’s MMA.

That is why Ronda is a good pick.

  • David Huenecke

I think ronda hurts the sport more than she helps it. I admit she is a good fighter but if you look at all her photo shoots shes generally half naked or totally naked just covering her boobs and at a side angle so you cant see her vag. Yes shes attractive but if you want people to take womens mma seriously stop having your champ do softcore porn photos. Whats gonna happen when some unattractive chick wins the belt? They did the same thing with carano. Womens mma should be about womens mma, not just the most attractive women in womens mma.

One could only imagine Cyborg doing a photoshoot covered by silky cloths

  • JOE SHINE

Cyborg needs to finish off Rousey and shut that tramps big mouth. Rousey will look like Roseanne Barr in 10 years.

  • JOE SHINE

Rousey is the face of the UFC and the most important asset currently. Till Cyborg destroys Rhonda.

  • JOE SHINE

Rousey is an asset for now till she loses to Cyborg and gets Ko’s for good.
