If you do, now you can also bring the UFC along for the ride.
THQ Inc. and Zuffa, LLC on Thursday announced the immediate availability of the “UFC Undisputed 2010” video game in the iTunes App Store. It is available for the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch for $6.99.
The new App version of the game features a simplified virtual Octagon experience, 25 fighters from the five UFC official weight classes prior to the WEC merger, a variety of competitive modes, extensive connectivity with social networking options, as well as access to the latest happenings in the UFC.
Much like the UFC taking it’s event global, the release of the UFC video game via iTunes is the latest move to expand the company’s brand into new markets. “UFC Undisputed 2009” debuted last year to sales of more than 1,000,000 units in its first month, and was named “Best Individual Sports Game” at the 2009 Spike Video Game Awards.
“UFC Undisputed 2009” was available for Sony Playstation 3 and Xbox 360. This year’s flavor, “UFC Undisputed 2010,” added mobile gaming to the mix. THQ and Zuffa added Sony’s PSP handheld console recently, along with Thursday’s announcement of adding the iPhone, iPad, and iPod Touch.
“UFC Undisputed 2010 raised the bar for sports videogames this year with an impressive feature set and unbeatable gameplay experience,” said Danny Bilson, Executive Vice President, Core Games, THQ. “We believe this franchise has the ability to flourish in a handheld format, and we are pleased to deliver this compelling product for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad.”
“The UFC Undisputed franchise is a huge hit with videogame and fight fans around the world,” said UFC President Dana White. “UFC Undisputed 2010 for iPhone, iPod touch and iPad are yet another way for fans to experience all the action inside the Octagon.”
