UFC president Dana White put an end to the rumors of former heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar returning to mixed martial arts following UFC 169 in Newark, N.J. on Feb. 1.

“No, Brock Lesnar is not coming back. Brock Lesnar is not fighting,” said White during the UFC 169 post-fight press conference.  “We have no deal with Brock Lesnar. He’s not coming back anytime soon.”

But that doesn’t change the fact that Alistair Overeem, the man that retired Lesnar, would welcome a rematch.  ”I heard there’s word that Brock Lesnar is coming back to the UFC. Well, I’ll be here waiting for him,” Overeem said following his UFC 169 unanimous decision win over Frank Mir.

Take a look back at Overeem’s win over Lesnar from UFC 141 from December 2011.

Alistair was a cheater in this fight and probably many others. 1-2 since getting busted, with the one win over a Mir that needs to retire. They need to start banning fighters in general that test positive for roids.

I’m surprised that nobody has mentioned Alistairs post steroid body profile. He USED to be the most buffed muscular fighter and now he looks so flat. It’s shocking the difference in body composition. Does anybody not notice or better left unsaid.

      • TheCerealKiller

He explained that. He said he “lost weight to increase his cardio”… LOLOLOL

If you get caught ur guilty but is there any sane person that thinks that Brock Lesnar is a product of “good genetics”. Come on… Let’s not kid ourselves, the only difference is some get caught and they should be punnished but you are really naïve if you think that there is a competitive edge in juice. I think it is levelling the playingfield. Would I like to see it different, yes but that’s utopia in me speaking.

Look at some of the physiques in MMA, if you have a bit of knowledge in bodycomposition and training it’s a no brainer theres a loooooot of juicing in the UFC. So stop the dumb focussing on Vitor and Reem, it’s just silly…

Regardless, overeem will kick our ass anyday! Steroids or not lol

He won by a fluke, too – healthy Brock would’ve survived the strike to the gut, but now this gut was post-surgery.

Even while fighting sick, he still managed to bust “great kickboxer”s mouth.

  • Alex

In the last fight, Overeem was taken down by Mir.
    Freaking Mir.

Best indication, that Brock hasn’t been himself in this fight.
Healthy Brock is surely able to take down anyone that is taken down by Murr.

Totally agree killer. Ban them fuckers the first time, then lets see how many guys try cheating. Life long bans. It’s not enough we just let them slide, these guys need to be responsible for what goes into their body, from vitamins to needles. When your fists can decide another man’s fate, you need to be extra responsible. Permanent bans would keep em honest.

I’m aware of Brock wrestling credentials, but that somehow didn’t translate to MMA well. In the beginning he was very successful at bulling people around but once Carwin showed that simple jab can froze him… he was an easy win for everybody.
I think that it’s amazing what Brock has done… but quitting MMA was smart decision. There is nothing more for him in it…

    • Alex

Froze him? Brock survived all his assault and came back.

If anything, it’s CARWIN who was successful in bullying people, but then Brock showed that a fighter can survive all this…Gonzaga and Mir fell Carwin’s victims in the first round, and they’re still in the UFC and still can beat most of the HW down there.

His diverticulitis didn’t translate well to MMA.
And he quit MMA because he wasn’t healthy enough to continue. Duh.

      • gnodeb

Well, that was not the point. The point was that Brock was never the same after that fight. Looks like decent jab can keep him on the outside. His body language is just wrong… Look at other grinders… they eat punches like cupcakes and go forward forever… I saw him running away…
As I said, what he was done was amazing. I would watch him again for sure. But he wont be favorite in any match up these days…

        • Alex

          LOL @ running away BS.
Edgar was running away from Edgar’s punches, Tito was running away from Wanderlei’s, Jones from Rampage’s.

What idiots call “running away” is creating the distance after getting rocked, and that’s what makes them win the fights – like all of those 4 did.

Lesnar was the only one to survive Carwin’s flurry, and saying after that that he has problem with taking punches is stupid.

That’s when overeem was considered the best hw in the world!
