It’s been quite some time since the UFC has been to either San Diego or Nashville, but both cities are now on the docket for 2015.
Both events will be of the Fight Night variety. The UFC will return to San Diego at the Valley View Casino Center on July 15 and then make the trip to Nashville on Aug. 8 at the Bridgestone Arena. The promotion revealed the news during the UFC 185 prelims on Saturday night on FX.
The promotion hasn’t held an event in San Diego since UFC Live on Versus 2 on Aug. 1, 2010. That event featured a pre-UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones dominating Vladimir Matyushenko in the main event at the San Diego Sports Arena.
It hasn’t been quite that long since the promotion landed in Nashville for UFC on FX 1. Featuring Melvin Guillard vs. Jim Miller, that event was held on Jan. 20, 2012, also at the Bridgestone Arena.
No fights have been announced for either card, but with dates and venues announced, a few fight announcements shouldn’t be far behind.
