White also, however, defended his friend, Alex Rodriguez. A-Rod is a Major League Baseball player for the New York Yankees, but is currently garnering attention for his alleged role in the Biogenesis performance enhancing drug scandal and subsequent 211-game suspension.

I usually like that White speaks his mind rather than just saying a bunch of press release BS like most sports commissioners, but there are moments when you need to separate your personal self from your duties to the sport and organization. He can go ahead and relate how he likes A-Rod personally, but I would have liked to see some more stern words about how steroid use is ruining sports. How does it look to the athletes in the UFC when their boss is going easy on cheaters just because they are his friends?

He’s got nothing to do with baseball, he’s a fan. I don’t think he needed to interject into he opinion into the situation. Baseball has enough people telling them what is wrong with the game, it’s players and the rules. Plus, he wasn’t asked about steroids, it was about the pitch being thrown at A-Rod. He said his peace and then he did his job he was there to do and promoted the UFC, not bash steroid user.

He takes the same stuff, of course he supports that tool

i wouldn’t call that defending him, with the arod phone call -when you get to the top I’m sure you get all sorts of hook ups, it’s not like you need to shop at Walmart anymore. I like White the work he did to get UFC on fox opened the door for lots of free fights (minus the cable bill) and weekly shows.

i do think a-rod should change his name to a-hole.

    • Mike mckinney

That was pretty clever…. Or something
You do know his name isn’t actually a-rod right?

  • Werdoomb

    This guy is a joke.

I understand that he is good at what he does, which is promoting fights. But this guy has tendencies to make comments about everything. Just keep your sheet to yourself buddy.

    • XIRand0mHeroIX

He was asked a question and he replied and moved on in a professional manner.. its not like he just started shooting his mouth off about something completely off topic.

And btw where do you get off calling someone as successful as he is a joke when your only contribution to society is trolling people on an MMA website

Now go ahead and call me a Dana Nutthugger, or a TUF noob or doomb….

thats the only reason i watched that fight was cuz Uria hall he is good but needs to step it up ! Sonnen who care bout this no good guy that submission was weak on tha cool.

So Arod referred him to a doctor and that’s a good thing that is supposed to offset him being named 3x in cheating scandals?

I still want to know who the MMC guys on the Biogenisis list are, starting to think we will never know
