The UFC has officially announced the upcoming card headed to Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center on Sunday, June 26 for UFC on Versus 4.
The card will be headlined by former middleweight title contender Nate Marquardt in his welterweight debut against Anthony Johnson.
“Nate Marquardt is an incredible athlete and his size and strength could make him a force in the UFC welterweight division,” UFC president Dana White said. “He’s not getting an easy fight for his first time at 170 pounds though. ‘Rumble’ has knockout power and great wrestling, and will make a huge statement if he beats Nate.”
The co-main event for the card will be a heavyweight tilt between former K-1 fighter Pat Barry and heavy-handed Frenchman Cheick Kongo.
“I really love the Barry-Kongo fight,” White said. “Both of these guys love to stand and trade and both come from kickboxing backgrounds. I expect it to be a war in that fight.”
The only other fight officially announced for the card is another heavyweight bout featuring former “Ultimate Fighter” competitor Matt Mitrione against Christian Morecraft.
The event will take place at the Consol Energy Center on Sunday, June 26 with tickets going on sale Saturday, April 23 at 10 a.m. ET.
