The event added two bouts to the card on Wednesday with heavyweights Pat Barry and Christian Morecraft, and Duane ‘Bang’ Ludwig taking on Josh Neer.
At the time, UFC officials said there was no date or venue for the event, but several sources confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that Jan 20 was the targeted time for the show.
UFC officials confirmed when speaking to MMAWeekly.com on Thursday that Nashville, Tenn. is a finalist for the show, but contracts have not been signed at this time.
The Tennessee Athletic Commission also confirmed on Wednesday that no one has officially applied for an event permit, but that doesn’t mean the card won’t end up in the state.
If the UFC event ends up in Nashville, it’s likely to be featured at the Bridgestone Arena, where the UFC held a show in 2009 with welterweights Carlos Condit and Martin Kampmann in the main event.
More fights are expected to be announced for the UFC on FX card in the coming weeks.
