Coming off back-to-back losses, Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva needed a win, and it’s funny how a wounded dog sometimes has the most dangerous bite.

Undefeated top ten heavyweight Travis Browne had seemingly everything going for him heading into the fight – a ton of hype and a place among the top five fighters in the division if he was victorious.

Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva had other plans.

The giant Brazilian came out stalking Browne right away, looking to stay away from the Hawaiian’s quick and powerful striking arsenal.

Browne was able to escape an early takedown attempt by reaching his hand outside the Octagon and grabbing the cage, which referee Herb Dean immediately warned him about, but regardless it stopped Silva’s forward progression.

After the separation, Browne pushed forward and as he threw a big left hand, his left leg slipped as he planted it down on the mat, and quickly he knew something was wrong.

Browne limped noticeably after the slip and his left leg was injured, which served as blood in the water for Silva who was quickly on the attack.

Silva launched an attack with a barrage of strikes and landed a thunderous right hook that crushed Browne on the jaw and put him down on the mat. Silva followed with a few more punches as a defenseless Browne could only watch his undefeated record fade away.

Herb Dean intervened and pulled Silva off his fallen opponent, and the one time Strikeforce Grand Prix contender got his first ever win in the UFC.

The next major question following the fight may be finding out how badly Travis Browne’s leg is injured, but for tonight Antonio “Bigfoot” Silva will celebrate his long awaited UFC debut and victory.
