Round 1: Pearson comes out kicking, going to the inside of Swanson’s lead leg. Both men then shift it punching mode, both swinging, but neither landing much damage early on. They trade solid straight body shots, but Swanson gets caught on a miss and Pearson shoots and takes him down. Swanson quickly regains his feet and they go back into striking mode. Pearson lands a high kick, but Swanson ducks, dodges and comes back with a right hand that plans Pearson on his backside. He’s right back up, trading shots. Swanson lands a solid punch, then comes in with a capoeira style kick that lands on Pearson’s neck, but Pearson forces him to the mat and lands a couple of punches to his downed foe. Swanson is quickly back to his feet and they are once again trading shots, Pearson plodding forward with his power, while Swanson is all over the place, dodging and feinting, coming in at a variety of angles. Round 2: Both men come out firing, but Swanson lands the first big shots, a punch followed by a spinning kick. Pearson grabs hold of Swanson and plants him on the mat, has control of his legs briefly, but Swanson again back on his feet, again looking to use his superior speed in his boxing. Pearson is trying to get in on Swanson, but Swanson has his jab working now. He goes for a jumping knee, but Pearson catches him and puts him on his backside, but Swanson lands an upkick as Pearson dives down on top of him. He maintains good position, however, dropping some really heavy ground and pound down on Swanson. He moves to lock up Swanson’s head, but that allows Swanson enough room to get to his feet. They trade a few more shots, but Swanson lands a front kick to Pearson’s jaw, then follows with two right crosses and a left hook that puts Pearson down with the referee stepping in to stop the fight.
