The Ultimate Fighting Championship on Thursday announced that Southern Florida is the winner of the most recent Hometown Throwdown contest co-promoted with Harley-Davidson, where fans got to vote on the location for a UFC event.

Fans chose Ft. Lauderdale, Fla., for UFC on FX 3 on June 8, which will land at the BankAtlantic Center, featuring the flyweight rematch between Ian McCall and Demetrious “Mighty Mouse” Johnson.

The winner of McCall vs. Johnson will move into the flyweight finals to face Joseph Benavidez for the first-ever UFC flyweight championship at a later date.

“I’m excited to bring the UFC back to Florida!” UFC president Dana White said. “The first fight between Johnson and McCall was incredible, and on June 8, they will finally finish the fight to determine who is going to fight for the first-ever flyweight title.”

Now fans can continue voting. The UFC is asking fans to select one of three bouts to make it onto the main card televised on FX. Fans can choose between the following three bouts: Scott Jorgensen vs. Eddie Wineland at bantamweight, Eduardo Rocha vs. Mike Pierce at welterweight, and Lance Benoist vs. Seth Baczynski, also at welterweight.

Florida is bad news, don’t know why they would ever want to hold an event down there. We need to give Florida a Viking funeral. Just saw it off and let it float into the gulf and sink.
