It took three months longer than expected, but Demetrious Johnson and Ian McCall finally sorted out their portion of the UFC flyweight tournament on Friday night at UFC on FX 3 in Sunrise, Fla.

Their bout capped off an exciting night of fights, but it didn’t earn any of the UFC on FX 3 post-fight award bonuses.

Eddie Wineland and Scott Jorgensen kicked off the main card with the eventual Fight of the Night winner, each of them taking home a $40,000 bonus.

Wineland was surely hoping for a knockout bonus as well after he dropped Jorgensen with a right cross that ended the fight late in the second round, but had to settle for the fight bonus.

It was Xtreme Couture’s Mike Pyle that took Knockout of the Night honors. He was on his heels, back against the fence, when he launched a right hand that landed squarely on Josh Neer’s jaw. Pyle found Neer’s on/off switch, quickly flicking it to off, leaving Neer out cold on the canvas.

The final $40,000 bonus went to Erick Silva in the night’s co-main event. The Brazilian was taken off his striking game early by Charlie Brenneman, but adjusted well as the opening round of their fight progressed.

After eating a few stinging punches and kicks, Brenneman dropped for a takedown, but Silva sprawled it out and deftly moved to Brenneman’s back. It didn’t take long for Silva to sink the fight-ending rear naked choke that also earned him the UFC on FX 3 Submission of the Night.
