Melvin Guillard knows it takes time to learn anything new, and with his team at the Blackzilians behind him he says give him about a year and he’ll be the one submitting fighters.

Guillard talks about his loss to Jim Miller, what went wrong, and where he goes from here.

Check out Melvin Guillard from the UFC on FX post fight press conference:

I actually started liking this guy when he went to Jackson’s camp. You could see a huge difference in the way he carried himself and the way he fought. Hope Jones gets to fight Rashad and beats the “Blackzillian” off of him. Ungrateful turds!! Two or three more experts down there… Thats what they need!!!

If he’s been in the game this long and still has no sub d i doubt he ever will.

Absolutely correct Prodigy815, 10 losses in his career and 9 of them are by submission (3 RNC, 3 Gullitine Chokes, 3 Triangle Chokes, 1 Arm Bar). You would think that if he was really dedicated that he would figure out how to defend of at the very least not get taken down. This reminded me a lot of the Lauzon fight, starts with great stand-up and speed, showboats a bit, get his ass taken down, can not get out, gives up his back, taps out. he gets very flustered when his back is on the mat. He is in the same category as Paul Daley and Dan Hardy, good striking but defensive groud game, he is all offense and no defense.

      Correction 2 Triangle Choke losses.
