Michael Kuiper vs. Tom Lawlor
Round 1: They touch gloves and Lawlor immediately moves forward looking for the takedown. They work for position along the cage. Lawlor works hard for a takedown, but Kuiper displays good defense. Lawlor lands punches to the body before changing levels and working for a takedown. Kuiper draws on his Judo background and gets a trip takedown. Lawlor quickly gets back to his feet. Kuiper takes him down again and lands right hands as Lawlor gets back to his feet. Kuiper slams Lawlor to the canvas. Kuiper advances to the back mount. Lawlor turns and works to get top position. They’re back standing but against the cage. The referee separates them. Lawlor drives forward for a takedown but Kuiper stuffs it and gains top position. He lands hammer fists. The round ends. MMAWeekly scores the round 10-9 for Kuiper.
Round 2: Lawlor presses forward behind punches. Kuiper changes levels and works for a takedown. Lawlor applies a guillotine choke and pulls guard. He tightens it down and Kuiper is forced to tap out.
