UFC on Fuel TV 6 Weigh-ins; First UFC in China Gets Green Light, but One Bout Nixed

Rich Franklin vs Cung Le UFC on Fuel TV 6 weigh-inThe Ultimate Fighting Championship makes its first foray into China on Saturday with UFC on Fuel TV 6: Franklin vs. Le at the Cotai Arena in Macao.

The fighters stepped on the scale on Friday to make their bouts official, although one undercard fight got cut from the card before the UFC on Fuel TV 6 weigh-in even got underway.

The fight slated to be first up on the Facebook preliminary broadcast, pitting David Mitchell against Hyun Gyu Lim, was nixed in the hours leading up to the weigh-ins.

Doctors declared Hyun Gyu Lim medically unfit and disallowed his participation. His issue was not disclosed by UFC officials, but MMAWeekly.com sources indicated it was related to his weight cut.

UFC officials confirmed that Mitchell was paid his show money for the fight.

Neither Rich Franklin nor Cung Le had any such issues with their weight cuts.

Franklin is a former UFC middleweight champion and trying to fight his way back into one last run at the middleweight title. He stepped on the scale at 185 pounds.

Former Strikeforce champion Cung Le also has his eyes on UFC gold. He made weight at 186 pounds.
