UFC on Fuel TV 3 Gate and Attendance

Featuring what turned out to be an early Fight of the Year candidate in Chan Sung Jung vs. Dustin Poirier, UFC on Fuel TV 3 wasn’t able to deliver the gate and attendance that the promotion drew to its first two events on Fuel TV.

UFC on Fuel TV 3 pulled in an attendance of 4,592 at the 10,000-seat arena, amounting to a gate of $343,175, according to UFC officials at the post-fight press conference.

By comparison, UFC on Fuel TV 1 managed 7,120 in attendance in Omaha, Neb., for a gate totaling $406,000; while UFC on Fuel TV 2 in Sweden rivaled pay-per-view numbers with 15,428 fans and $2.23 million in gate revenue.

    Not bad for a Tuesday night. It will be interesting to see how the tv numbers shake out.

    Hopefully the UFC presence on Fuel will prompt more cable providers to pick it up and offer it in a reasonable package to their customers.

    It’s not fair to compare the two…Sweden’s card was better for the fan base and didn’t have to go up against 3 other major sports on the same night…
