UFC on Fuel TV LogoUFC officials may not be busy with an actual event going off this weekend – and that seems to be a rarity these days – but they’re not taking time off from putting fights together.

The UFC on Saturday night announced a trio of new bouts for its UFC on Fuel TV 3 event slated for May 15 in Fairfax, Va. Verbal agreements are in place for all three fights.

The first is a welterweight tilt pitting The Ultimate Fighter Season 7 winner Amir Sadollah against Wanderlei Silva protégé Jorge Lopez. The two were originally slated to fight at UFC 143, but both fell off the card due to injury.

Sadollah (5-3) is looking to bounce back from a loss to Duane Ludwig, while Lopez (11-2) is trying to get back on track himself following a loss to Justin Edwards.

Having alternated between wins and losses on his latest tour of the UFC, Aaron Riley (30-13) will try to establish some momentum at UFC on Fuel TV 3. He faces Cody McKenzie (12-2), who is hungry for a win after losing the first two bouts of his professional career back-to-back.

The other bout announced is a middleweight match-up pitting Dongi Yang (10-2) against Brad Tavares (7-1).

UFC on Fuel TV 3 is headline by a potentially explosive featherweight bout between Dustin Poirier and “The Korean Zombie,” Chan Sung Jung.
