UFC on Fox Sports 1 #3 will take place on Sept. 4 in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
UFC officials this week confirmed the event, as well as several previously rumored bouts.
The UFC on Fox Sports 1 #3 main event pits Brazilian light heavyweight standout Glover Teixeira against The Ultimate Fighter 8 winner Ryan Bader. Teixeira will be fighting in his home state of Minas Gerais, while the bout marks Bader’s first foray to Brazil.
The co-main event will see former Strikeforce champion Ronaldo “Jacare” Souza go up against perennial middleweight contender Yushin Okami. Both men are trying to fight into contention for the belt currently held by Anderson Silva.
Also confirmed for the fight night is a flyweight showdown between Jussier “Formiga” da Silva and Joseph Benavidez.
In the U.S., the two-hour main card broadcast will lead in to the season premiere of The Ultimate Fighter: Team Rousey vs. Team Tate on the FOX Sports 1 network, which launches Aug. 17. UFC women’s bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey and her next challenger, Miesha Tate, serve as coaches on the reality series.
UFC on Fox Sports 1 #3 is the promotion’s second event in Belo Horizonte. The first was UFC 147, which took place last summer and featured Wanderlei Silva vs. Rich Franklin at Mineirinho Arena.
More details for UFC on Fox Sports 1 #3, including the venue and ticket on-sale information, will be released in the coming weeks.
