Brendan Schaub at UFC 128The UFC on Fox 8 fight card slated for July 27 in Seattle is under attack, or so it seems.

In a 24-hour span, three fights have been affected with one cancellation and two opponent changes.

A heavyweight bout between Brendan Schaub and Matt Mitrione has been removed from the UFC on Fox 8 fight card altogether after Mitrione withdrew from the bout due to injury. Instead of trying to find Schaub a new opponent, the promotion instead pulled the fight altogether with the intent to reschedule it for a later date.

Aside from the heavyweight fight cancellation, two other bouts on Thursday underwent opponent changes.

Siyar Bahadurzada and Bobby Green both had to pull out of their fights, but new opponents have already been secured, according to UFC officials.

Bahadurzada was originally slated to face Robbie Lawler, but with Bahadurzada’s injury, Bobby Voelker has agreed to step in and fight Lawler.

Tim Means has agreed to take Green’s stop on the UFC on Fox 8 card against Danny Castillo.

UFC on Fox 8 is slated for July 27 at the Key Arena in Seattle. UFC flyweight champion Demetrious Johnson headlines the event, putting his belt on the line against John Moraga.

I bought $50 tickets in the 200 level for this card and it hasnt sold well at all there still a few cageside seats left and tons of lower bowl left. I’m hoping there’s a chance that if they dont sell many tmore tix they will let people move down to fill up lower bowl so it doesnt look bad on tv

Yes they will do that. I went to a fight night in austin and because there wasnt many people they moved everybody that was on the top to the bottom. The arena only had 8,000 in attendance.
